Ideas for Bridesmaids Hairstyles

There are endless possibilities for bridesmaids hairstyles. You should consider the age of the bridesmaid and their style of dress as well as complimenting the style of your wedding. Is your wedding traditional and elegant, or more natural and informal?

You also need to make sure they feel comfortable with the bridesmaid hairdos you choose, you don't want any tension on your big day. It should be a happy and exciting time for you and your maids. Don't forget the bride is the star of the show, so the bridesmaid hairstyles shouldn't be more elaborate than the bride's.

If you don't mind how your bridesmaids wear their hair you can of course let them sort their own hair out. But most brides prefer to have more control and choose the hairstyle, in that case you should pay for your stylist to do all the bridesmaids hairstyles.

If you have bridesmaids ranging in age from little tots to adults you will probably choose to have different hair styles for them. As it's not very likely your adult maids will be happy with a hair style the flower girls wear. Choosing different styles gives you the perfect opportunity to make little ones as cute as possible.

There are lots of options for flower girls hair; you want to bring out the maximum cuteness to ensure the 'aaah' factor with your guests. For flower girls aged 3 to 4 you need a simple style, because it will get a lot of rough and tumble throughout the day. Curls look lovely with a pretty headband or flower headdress.

Any maids a little older can have more defined bridesmaid hairdos. If they have long hair you could have their hair braided and have the stylist dot some fresh flowers through the braid. High buns also look adorable on young ones with a tiara and they'll feel like little princesses.

You should have already chosen your own hairstyle when thinking about your adult bridesmaids. The bridesmaids hairstyles should complement yours but either be a scaled down version or something different altogether.

You should also consider each bridesmaids hair type, for example thick heavy hair doesn't hold curls well. If you are having an intricate updo, your maids could have a simpler version or a half up style. If some of your bridesmaids have short hair, you might have to choose different style for each of them.

If the hair is long enough to be pinned back, you could opt for a faux updo. For this style the hair is blow dried and teased backwards, it is held in place with pins and styling products. If you choose a simple style like loose curls for your adults, you could dress the style up a little by pinning a section of their hair back with a funky flower comb or diamanté clip.
