DIY Wedding Centerpiece

Making a diy wedding centerpiece is one of the simplest ways to save money on the flowers for your wedding and one of my favorite diy wedding projects!

Making wedding flowers does not have to be complicated. Do it yourself flower arrangements for the tables at your reception are an easy way to save money without the stress of trying to make a wedding bouquet!

You can choose an effective yet straightforward design and make this same design over and over so that you have one for each table at your reception. The list of possibilities is limitless. You should plan your budget and how much time you have available before you decide on your centerpiece style. Buy enough flowers to make one centerpiece in the design you have in mind and try it out. That way you can be sure it will work on the big day. It will also give you chance to see how long the flowers last so you know how close to the event you are going to need to do your flower arrangements.

Here is an idea for a simple centerpiece to inspire your own design. You can see more samples of some of the designs I used over on my homemade centerpieces page. diy wedding centerpiece

Of course, if you are making your own centerpieces and are on a really tight budget, or have very little help then maybe you want to stay away from flowers altogether? These ideas all make stunning and cheap centerpieces that you can prepare well ahead of time.

  • Helium balloons
  • A glass jar filled with colored pebbles
  • A floating candle in an attractive dish

  • Do It Yourself Wedding Projects

When you are planning your marriage ceremony, there are plenty of do it yourself wedding projects that will help keep the costs under control. Once you've settled on a budget, it's time to start exploring your options for centerpieces, decorations, flowers and more.

Some items take a bit of skill, so if you don't consider yourself a crafty person, do it yourself centerpieces may not be a good choice. However, that doesn't mean you must turn everything over to the pros. What about other diy wedding projects? I saved money by making my own invitations and so I had a bigger budget to spend on my flowers!

Most stationary supply stores and card shops like Hallmark, carry a large selection of card stock and matching envelopes perfect for do it yourself wedding invitations. They are often sold in kits, complete with instructions on how to print your wedding verse from your home computer.

Adding your own projects to your special day by adding some do it yourself wedding decorations and other ideas will give you the day of your dreams, without starting your new life together in debt.
