Wedding Event Insurance

Do you really need wedding event insurance?

Nobody wants to imagine that a wedding disaster could happen to them and we truly hope it never does! Here are some of the points you might want to consider when deciding whether to purchase online wedding insurance.

Shall I give you an example from my own wedding event? My husband loves BMW cars. We had found a company specializing in BMWs and I had spoken to them on the phone and make a booking for the date of our wedding.
When it came time to pay the deposit I planned to write a cheque and post it. It turned out my parents had some business in the area beside the company offices so they offered to call in with the cheque for me.

Imagine my shock when I got a call from Mom to tell me they had found the place closed up and all the cars gone! They spoke to a neighboring office who told them the company went out of business the week before.

I was shocked. In my case, I was lucky I had not paid out any money and my biggest problem was finding a new supplier. It is a sad fact though that wedding suppliers do go out of business and you could be left high and dry. Replacement services sourced at the last minute can be more expensive than your original booking due to the urgency of the preparations.

Other things covered by wedding event insurance or wedding liability insurance will vary depending on the policy you choose so you should take care and shop around.

Wedding Insurance Benefits

Some areas your policy may cover include...

  • Wedding transport
  • Wedding rings
  • Wedding cancellation insurance
  • Personal liability
  • Rearrangement of wedding
  • Wedding gifts
  • Legal expenses

  • If you are using the services of a wedding planner insurance may be part of their package but do check to be sure. If not, have them look into it for you.

Nobody wants to tempt fate by dreaming up scenarios for a wedding accident or wedding disasters so try not to worry too much, it will probably never happen! If it does, you will have decided whether to have wedding event insurance to fall back on.

    Honeymoon Insurance

Do you need honeymoon insurance? Your honeymoon may well be the most luxurious holiday you will ever plan. These are the things you need to consider when you decide if you should take out honeymoon insurance.

You may already have travellers insurance or international travel health insurance. You should also examine your wedding event insurance policy if you have one and see if it gives any cover or offers an added extra for honeymoon insurance.

Honeymoon insurance is basically travelers insurance so all the same factors you would consider for your annual vacation insurance, you should also ensure you are covered for on your honeymoon.

You will likely need medical cover, cover for lost luggage or passport and cover if you are injured abroad.

Other areas likely to be covered by a specialist honeymoon insurance package include; cancellation of trip, medical expenses, travel delay, missed departure, personal accident and liability.

If you are going to be taking part in any high risk sports such as scuba diving on your honeymoon, check to make sure your insurance covers these as standard. If not, you may need to pay for a higher level of cover.
